+ Basic Knowledge

What are the main bus air conditioning parts?

The air conditioner bus is mainly composed of the following core components:
1 Refrigeration compressor: compresses the refrigerant and drives the refrigeration cycle. This is the most important part.
2 Condenser and Evaporator: The condenser is used to dissipate heat, and the evaporator absorbs the heat of the car to achieve cooling.
3 Expansion Valve and Liquid Storage Dry Filter: adjust the refrigerant flow and filter impurities.
3 Fan System: includes supply and return air fans to ensure air circulation.
4 Control System: contains temperature sensors, electromagnetic clutches, etc., to achieve automatic temperature control and mode adjustment.

How does bus air-conditioning work?

Core Principle: vapour compression refrigeration cycle

The refrigeration function of traditional bus air conditioning mainly relies on the principle of vapour compression refrigeration. This principle is achieved through the phase change of the refrigerant in the closed system (liquid-gas transition) to achieve heat transfer. The whole process involves the core components mentioned above: compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator. Auxiliary components such as fans, pipework and controls.

Specific workflow of bus air conditioning

1. Compression: The refrigerant in low temperature and low pressure gaseous state is sucked and compressed by the compressor, and becomes high temperature and high pressure gaseous state. Compression. For traditional bus air conditioning, this power source is driven by the chassis engine through the belt.
2. Condensation: The high-temperature and high-pressure gaseous refrigerant enters the condenser on the outside of the bus roof. The condenser is equipped with a condensing fan, which accelerates the heat away from the refrigerant, cooling it and condensing it into a high-pressure liquid state.
3. Throttling: High-pressure liquid refrigerant flows through the expansion valve, and due to the sudden narrowing of the pipeline, the pressure drops sharply, forming a low-temperature, low-pressure liquid refrigerant. Evaporation: Absorb the heat in the compartment.
4. Evaporation: The low-temperature and low-pressure liquid refrigerant enters the evaporator in the bus. The refrigerant in the evaporator absorbs the heat of the air inside the bus, and the liquid refrigerant evaporates completely into a low-temperature, low-pressure gaseous state, completing the heat absorption process.
The evaporated low-temperature and low-pressure gaseous refrigerant returns to the compressor to start the next cycle.

Are air conditioners on buses mandatory?

There is no mandatory requirement for buses to be equipped with air conditioners. However, with the advancement of technology and social development, people’s requirements for comfort are increasing. If a brand of bus cannot provide a comfortable riding experience, it will have a negative impact on its brand image.

When did bus air conditioning first appear?

According to the information we know so far, the prototype of bus air conditioning technology was born in the United States in 1937, but the double-decker air-conditioned bus in the United Kingdom in 1988 was the first to be put into commercial operation and form a complete system.

Other common expressions for bus air conditioning:

carrier bus air conditioning, school bus air conditioning, carrier bus ac, carrier air conditioner for bus, trans air bus air conditioning, air condition bus, air conditioned bus, air conditioning bus, air-conditioned bus.
